You’d think Penguins would need no introduction but remarkably, for all their cuteness and charisma, many species are being overlooked and are starting to take serious strain globally. For example – numbers of African Penguins still surviving around the coast of southern Africa are down to just 1% of the numbers that were present as recently as a 100 years ago. How is this happening? There are many factors influencing penguin numbers, but essentially their plight is the result of blind, thoughtless and selfish plundering of the riches of the ocean by a human population that is spiralling out of control…
